Is this free for me?
Yes. You never pay us. The fencer pays us for introductions, and you deal with them directly for the quote and the work.
Who will contact me?
One local fencer, named on the form before you send anything. We never pass your details to more than one business, and we never sell them on.
How high can my fence be without planning permission?
Up to 2 metres in most places. Next to a road used by vehicles, or the pavement beside one, the limit is 1 metre. Higher than that needs planning permission, and so does any fence around a listed building. Some estates and conservation areas have extra restrictions, so check if you're unsure.
Which fence is mine, left or right?
There's no rule that it's always the left-hand one. Ownership is shown on your title deeds or plan, often with 'T' marks, and you can get a copy from HM Land Registry. If the deeds say nothing, agree it with your neighbour before replacing a shared fence.
Timber or concrete posts?
Concrete posts don't rot and suit exposed gardens. Timber posts look softer and are easier to fix later. Plenty of people use concrete posts and gravel boards with timber panels. The fencer can tell you what suits your ground and how windy your garden is.
